Making sure you have a way to tell us what you think about our services - good and bad!

Many people using Canberra Men's Centre programs come with particular needs, i.e. being in crisis, experiencing high levels of stress, or feeling overwhelmed by their situation. It's important to ask questions and find out as much as you can about our services, ie; how the service works, what it offers and any limits on what we can do. If you find out these things as early on as possible, you won't be disappointed if it's not exactly what you expect.

To help us make sure we're doing the best job we can, we're keen to hear what you have to say about our services.  If you think our staff or services have done a good job in assisting you, we'd really like to know about it. On the other hand, you may be unhappy about something we've done, or perhaps not done and we'd like to hear about that too.  So, if you had difficulties in your contact with any of our staff, or felt that the service was unsatisfactory or not what you wanted,we would really like you to let us know.

We'd like to work out any differences as they come up, so we can work together for better outcomes for you. Sorting things out sooner helps to build and keep up good relationships between our service users (you) and our staff. Complaints and negative feedback are just as important as praise and appreciation in helping us improve our services - if we could have done something better, we need to know about it so we can look at how to do it better next time.

There are a number of ways you can pass on your comments. Tell the worker or their supervisor, or the Director - speak to them, phone or write. Use the Feedback forms, envelopes, pens and mailbox which are kept in the Men's Centre waiting room. If you're unhappy with the service or how you've been treated, you can also ask to meet with the Director Men's Centre, Greg Aldridge, or you can email or write to the Board of Directors. Feedback and Service User survey forms are also available on this website.

Sometimes people feel reluctant to make complaints. They may be embarrassed or afraid that no-one will listen, or perhaps feel anxious about what will happen. If you feel this way, we would encourage you to give your feedback anonymously - you don't have to identify yourself.  We are committed to responding to your comments however you decide to make them.

To speak to a supervisor or the Centre Director, you can call (02) 6230 6999, email us or write to the address on the contact page. If you'd like to contact the Board of Directors, address your letter like this:
